Question 1

How does 3v3 basketball scoring work?

Accepted Answer

Most youth 3v3 tournaments use a make-it-take-it format with a single hoop: baskets inside the arc count for 1 point, shots from beyond the arc count for 2, and games are typically played to a target score (often 21) or a fixed time limit, whichever comes first.

Question 2

How many players are on a 3v3 basketball team?

Accepted Answer

A standard 3v3 roster has 3 starters plus 1 substitute (4 total), though some tournaments allow rosters of 3-5 players depending on the organizer's rules.

Question 3

What age groups play 3v3 basketball?

Accepted Answer

Youth 3v3 tournaments typically run age divisions from 8U through 18U, with many organizers grouping by grade level rather than strict age cutoffs.
